終わったような気分ですね、。
9月に入って残暑が残ったとしても8月が終わると気分は夏終了。
週末（今日は週の初めですが）は今夜も含めて3連続のDJ、首の後ろが痛いです。
天気もこんなで、ずっと眠い、概ね憂鬱なBLUE MONDAYとはよくいったもんです。

Summer is …

I think it’s over. Even if it is still hot, at the end of August, or once September gets here, it feels like the end of summer. Though it’s technically the beginning of the week, (including tonight) after three days of DJing in a row this weekend, the tendons in the back of my neck have started to hurt. And with the weather as it is, I am feeling sleepy… that whole “Blue Monday” thing is really fitting.

Remix? Cover?

Right now, the song that I am listening to the most is the Lykke Li vs Rodeo mix of “Knocked Up” by Kings of Leon. Lykke Li plays a live cover of the song and has remixed it and… I wonder if she has even put her own vocals into the song???

I enjoy Lykke Li, and though I am not the biggest fan of Kings of Leon, through this intricate process, I really love the finished song. The lack of sound… and all the voices; I like it all. It would be great if this were a full band. I think the recorded one is the Kings of Leon album version. So be careful when buying. The top one is the problematic remix, and the second one is the Lykke Li live cover version. The last one is the original version. After lining them all up, the remix is without doubt number one! It kind of makes you feel on the edge of the “new”.

Lykke Liがライブでこの曲をカバーしてて、で、この曲をリミックスして、そこに自分の歌も入れたって事なのかな？？？　Lykke Liは好きで、Kings of Leonにはあまり興味のない僕はこの複雑な工程を経て出来上がったこのミックスにもの凄い魅力を感じます。

時代感も、音の少なさも、声も全部好きですね。こんなバンドがあればいいのに。

で、収録されてるのはKings of Leonのアルバム？なんで要注意。

一番上が問題のリミックス、二番目がLykkeのライブバージョン、最後がオリジナル。

いや、並べて聞いてもリミックスが一番いいです。なんか最新のモードを感じます。

Snow Loepard届きました。早速入れてみましたが、先ずインストールがメチャ早い。

遅めの夏休みも終了、週末はWOMBと由比ケ浜です。

My kind of late summer vacation has come to an end; this weekend I will be at WOMB and YUIGAHAMA.

KoMPAKT TOTAL10

世相は相変わらず荒れてますが、音楽は健康ですね。
KoMPAKTから素敵なコンパイルの最新盤が出ました。
便宜上「エレクトロ」と呼ばれているものより遥かに音楽的です。

As always, the social times are rough, but music is in good shape. A new beautiful compilation from KoMPAKT has just recently come out. For the sake of convenience, it is being called “Electro” but more than that, it is very musical.

ここ数年フォーク的なものに気持ちが傾いています。
そして、ここに来てさらにフォークロア（より民族調な）な音楽に惹かれています。
でも、ワールドミュージック的なものではなく現代的なクリエイションが必須です。

Over the last few years I have been leaning towards folk music. And here recently, I am really falling for folkish (or in other words, ethnic-ish folk) music. But what is needed now isn’t world music, but instead, more contemporary creation.

世代的なものなのかどうなのか、僕は未だにAmazonでCDをけっこう買います。
車のナビのHDDに入れるにしろ何にしろCDは便利だし、「作品」を購入してる気がします。

なので、トム・ヨークの考え方は少し残念ですが、一方で同じ音楽家としてはアルバム
という括りでものをつくるのが困難な時代である事も理解出来ます。
単体の曲を作っていってそれらのコンパイル（まとめ）としてのアルバムでしかないのかなと。
それでも、ある程度まとまった数の曲を集めて発表するフォーマットとしてのアルバムは
已然として僕にも必要です。

以下最近買ったCDアルバムリスト、あれれ、結構昔持ってたものの買い直しが多いわ.......

Buying CDs
I don’t know if it’s just my generation, but I still often use Amazon to buy CDs. Putting them in your car’s hard disk storage, or whatever you do with them, CDs are convenient, and you feel like you have gotten “something.”

So I think that Tom York’s position is a bit of a shame. While at the same time as a musician, I sympathize with him because of how hard it is in this day and age to sculpt an album. But sometimes I wonder if albums are just about making and compiling a set of stand-alone tracks… Or if the getting together a fair number of tracks and then combining them is the format of an album… In all reality, this is what I probably need to do.

降ってますね。
台風の災害や洪水とかホントに悲惨ですが、雨自体は僕は結構好きです、
鎮静作用というか、ちょっと大げさにいうと「浄化」作用にも似た感覚があります、。
特に、地元近くの京都などは雨が降ると街が数割増しで奇麗に見えたりもします。

Rain
It has really been coming down. The damage from typhoons, like floods etc, is really a shame, but I actually like rain in and of itself. It has a lulling effect, and, though it sounds a bit exaggerated, a purifying quality. Especially around my hometown and the Kyoto area, it all looks that much nicer when it rains.

今の家に引っ越したばかりの時に、雨が降るとうちのベランダで雨宿りしてたキジトラの猫が
子供ふたり（二匹）産んで、最近は親子で遊びに来てます。
大家さんの許可を得てたまにツナ缶とかあげてるんですが、
差し出すと先ず親猫が毒味をしに来て、その後子供二人に食べさせるという
まー当たり前の行動なんですが、ちょっと感動です。
当たり前の事が出来ない人間もいっぱいいますからね。。。。

Some Visitors
Ever since I moved into my current place, whenever it rained, a cat along with the two kittens she birthed, would come to my veranda. Recently, they all come up and hang-around together. With the permission of my landlord, I started putting out tuna cans for them. Without delay, the mother cat would come up and taste the food to make sure it was safe for the kittens, and then they would follow along. It’s a little moving to see all of this, and though it might seem like a natural thing to do, some wouldn’t even bother to.

明治記念館ビアテラスとても素敵な空間です。
お酒飲めない人も楽しく食事出来るようなメニューも豊富だともっと良いかもですね。

The Meiji KinenkaThe Meiji Memorial Hall ’s “Beer Terrace” is a very nice space. It would probably be even better if those who didn’t drink could enjoy a more generous dinner menu.
