Second time on the Eurostar on this trip, I'm heading to London again
Aside from the poisonous looking macaroons, the service on the Eurostar was first class all the way.
It's surprising, and the same goes for Japan, but I like traveling by train.

So, now I'm into the last leg of my scheduled production work at the London studio,
and so literally it's hotel to studio and back. I haven't been going anywhere else,
just making music at one of those two places. I'm not being picky about making
songs, it's a sketch I'm making; parts of a design.
It's like I have sticky fingers....of course this isn't necessarily bad, but I take and use
what influences me. Actually, now what's really in my head...
(maybe in my heart, no not in my chest though... WELL WHERE IS IT?... I guess my head afterall!?) are sounds, melodies; textures and all the information involved in making music.
It's really very difficult. Now, actually being able to manipulate
instruments is an unparalleled virtue, giving you not just an edge, but somehow raises your game in the long run. To get around this, it is a battle with your senses.
When I say senses in this case, I don't mean "personal taste" or "your flavor." I literally
mean, your senses; with what, and how you respond to something... the way you
react. With your antenna flying, you have to up your senses, and increase input to
make music.

今回二度目のEURO STAR☆でロンドンに再び。
毒々しい色のマカロン以外は最高のもてなしのEURO STAR☆のクラス1。
国内でもそうだけど、意外と鉄道の旅が好き。

さて、最終行程のロンドンでのスタジオ作業、文字通りスタジオとホテルの往復。
全く何処にも行かずひたすらその二カ所でどちらでも音楽作ってる。

曲という形にこだわらないで、スケッチのようなものや断片的な音のデッサンのようなもの
をただただ作っている。手癖で何となくやっちゃうものや、何かに影響されたものも、
勿論悪くはないんだけれど、今やりたい作業は、ちょい違う。

頭（又は心、この場合心臓ではないよね？じゃ何処なんだろ？やっぱ脳？）で鳴った音
メロディ、質感、音に関する全ての情報を現実にしていくという事。

すごく難しい。今や楽器が操れる事が音楽制作にとって圧倒的な美徳、優位性じゃなくなって久しく、機材を駆使すればまさに「なんとなく」出来上がってしまう。
その状態を回避する為に自分の中のセンスと向き合う。

センスって、僕の場合「テイスト、持ち味」ではなく、言葉通り「感度」
どんなものに、何に、どれだけ反応するかという感度、その感じ方がセンス。
センスを高めて、インプットを増やし、アンテナビンビンで音楽やる。

帰国間近です。

I headed to Bourges from Milan without hardly a wink of sleep.
And because I'm feeling a little under the weather, I took some medication
that had me totally on auto-pilot during the trip. But from the airport and stations, to the cafes or wherever, every time I passed-out and woke-up,
it was like "Where am I?" But as you might expect, I didn't have a
"Who am I" moment.

It was like Fuji Rock, lots of little booths all lined up; a quaint festival with a small town feel. The bitter sweet thrill of a teenager and the hokey feel of a school festival mixed to make for an intriguing night. Bourges was very charming, so much so that even rabbits came to play at night.

ミラノからほぼ一睡もせずブルジュへの移動は、風邪ギミで薬飲んでたせいもあって

完全に「無意識下の旅」そこが空港であれ駅であれ、カフェであれ寝て起きる度にまさに、

「ここは何処？」状態。さすがに「私は誰？」とはならないけど。

富士ロック的な、しかし屋内のフェスで沢山の小屋が建ち並ぶ田舎町の可愛いフェス。

ティーンエイジャーの甘酸っぱいドキドキ感と学園祭の陳腐な雰囲気が入り交じった、

不思議な夜だったけど、ブルジュという街は相当にチャーミング、

夜中に夢の中にうさぎが遊びに来るほどに。

TUNNEL MILAN

ミラノでの滞在時感はDJプレイを含めても全く24時間に満たない過酷な行程。

着いて、サウンドチェックやってちょい食べて寝て、プレイして早朝空港へ。

なので、何一つ街や国の印象を決定づける事柄がないんだけど、好きな街。

あ、好きになるだろうな...っていう予感がする場所。

出会う人だったり、雰囲気だったり要素は様々だけど、一環して良いヴァイブレーション。

勿論、パーティーでミラノっ子もやっつけた。パーティーレポは次回に。

Even including the time from my DJ set, I wasn't even in Milan for 24 hours;
indeed a killer ischedule.
I arrived and did things like a sound check, had a bit to eatand a nap.
I played the show and was on my way to the airport early this morning!
So I didn't really get to see any of the city, or even anything to cement my
impression of the place, but I liked it. I thought to myself,
"I could really enjoy this place!" The people I met, the atmosphere, all kinds of
things... it had a good vibe. Of course, at the party, I clobbered the Milan kids.
I'll give you the party report next time.

実に10年以上ぶりくらいに 8 1/2（フェリーニ）を観た。

ロンドンで観ようと事前にDVDボックスセット（特典付き）を買っておいた。

マルチェロ・マストロヤンニ演じる主人公のグイドの心の中の言葉は、

とても哲学的で、かつ人生そのものを語ってる。

ランダムに切り取っても見る側の何かしらに当てはまったりして。

偶然にもboo君がカメラでそのテレビモニターの写真を撮ってた。

そこに映されてるのは、まさに今の心もちだったりする。

「幸福というのは誰かを傷つけずに真実を言う事だ」

今まさにそう思うしそうしたいけど出来てない。

そして他人にもそうしてほしいけどそうはならない。

奇しくも場面はグイドの妄想（もしくは悪夢）が完全にカオスになる場面。

いざ、ミラノへ！

Its actually been more than 10 years since I watched 8 1/2 by Fellini.
Because I wanted to watch it in London, I bought the promotional box-set.
Marcello Mastroianni's performance as Guido, the main character who's inner
thoughts are indeed philosophical, speak to the essence of life.
Even if those viewing only see random pieces, it all still holds true,
and is so funny! It's an interesting coincidence that BOO just happened to catch one of
those scenes on camera. What he got on camera was exactly that which I picture in my heart.
"True happiness is speaking the truth without hurting others."
This is exactly what I want I think and want to do, but haven't been able to.
This is also what I want others to do but, no on is. Strange as it seems, it's where Guido
is imagining (or maybe having a nightmare) where everything is in complete chaos.
Well it's off to Milan.

ロンドンに着いてから何故か早寝が多くて、晩ご飯まともに食べてないかも。

月曜にスタジオ決めて、昨日から作業開始。

エレファントキャッスル近くにあるスタジオで、ケミカルもここでほぼアルバムやってるらしい。

僕が借りた部屋は小さいプリプロダクションルームで、UNKLEのジェームスじゃないほう

が所有してるらしく、でも貸してくれた。

まるで子供部屋のようなこの部屋にMacとインターフェイスとモニターだけ持ち込んで

作業開始、思えばもう世界中何処行ってもほぼ同じ環境で音楽作れる時代だね。

今日で作業は一旦終えて明日は初ミラノ。一月にWOMBでご一緒したHOT CHIPのDJとDJ。

翌日はフランスはBOURGESでのフェスでDJ。

For some reason, since I arrived in London,
I've been going to sleep early and probably haven't had a proper meal.
On Monday, I decided on a recording studio and started work yesterday.
Located near the Elephant Castle Station, this is said to be where the Chemical Brothers do most of their recording.
My quaint room is a pre-production room, owned by one of the guys from UNKLE;
not James, but they are letting me rent it. It's literally like a child's room.
I just brought a Machintosh, interface and monitors. Come to think of it, these days
you can make music in almost the same kind of environment, no matter where you
go in the world. I finished up some work today and from tomorrow,
it's off to Milano. I'll be DJing with HOTCHIP, who I DJed with in January at Club
Womb.
The day after that, I'll be DJing at a festival in Bourges, France.

Guilo Guiloでの料理。フルでは食べれなかったけどやっぱ凄い。

この男の人間力とか行動力にはホントに驚かされるなー、

あとパンク。

難易度の高いとこに向かって行く姿勢はとっても真摯だけど、

決まり切った事や常識、定石への反発心はリアルにパンク。

そして、翌日彼の招待で近所のレストランへ。

ここも美味い、別々に注文した皿を全員で回し食い。

彼の家族（スタッフ含む）も息子もパリの下町に馴染んでいてほっとした。

そして、なんと枝国に奢ってもらっちゃった〜枝国ありがと♡。

そのご、一路ユーロスターでロンドンへ。

Edakuni’s Guilo Guilo and From Paris to London
Guilo Guilo cuisine!
I didn’t have a full course, but just as I thought, it was incredible.
This guy’s ability to make things happen; his “person power” is really amazing!
He is “Punk.” His approach is to sincerely aim for the difficult,
but how he decides things, his sensibilities, are not set by the book;
his resistance is the essence of punk.

The next day, he invited me to a nearby restaurant.
This place was also delicious. We all ordered many dishes individually,
but shared the fare. I was very relieved to see that his family,
the staff of his restaurant included, and his son, had all really adjusted to the downtown area.
And get this, it was all on Mr. Edakuni!! Thanks a lot Edakuni♡
After this, it was straight off to the Eurostar bound for London.

11時間半の空の旅は意外と快適。

いつもより寝れたし、スラムドッグミリオネアも観れたし、満足。

さて、到着後渋滞の中モンマルトルへ。チェックインもサウンドチェックも

気持ち悪いくらい問題なし。その後枝国んち「GUILO GUILO」へ。

京都人の数少ない友達と言える中のひとり枝国栄一、人間としてはともかく（笑）

クリエイターとして共感、尊敬してるんよねー。

音楽と料理、表現は違うけど、高みを目指す気持ちは似てる気がする。

そんな彼のパリのお店のまさしく一周年の3時間前ってタイミングに居合わせた。

オープニングに来れなかっただけに本当よかった。勿論料理もすばらしかったよ。

食事中も予約の客が早く来て押し出され気味、、パリでこんなって......

で、ELYSEE MONTMARTREでのパーティー巨大なウエアハウス内のクラブに

結構人は入っててなかなか楽しいパーティーだった。ちょっと客層が薄い気がしたけど、

ヴェニューは大きくなればまるほどそういうもんだよね。

勿論ヘッドライナーの役目ヤリキッタし、パリっ子ロックしといたしー。

The hour and a half flight was surprisingly comfortable.
I got more sleep than usual and even saw some of "Slumdog Millionaire".
After arriving, I found myself in the middle of traffic on the way to Musée de Montmartre (モンマルトルへ). Checking-in and the sound check also went almost sickeningly well. Afterwards, it was off to Edakuni's place,「GUILO GUILO.」As far as people go, Eiichi Edakuni, who is one of my few Kyoto friends, is not just a really great guy (LOL) ... I also respect him as a creator. Though the expression of cuisine and music are different, I think their aim; the strive for excellence, is similar. And here we are meeting-up, 3 hours away from the one-year anniversary of the opening of his restaurant in Paris... what timing!!! I am so glad that I was able to attend the opening. Of course the food was delicious, but the patrons with reservations came in early so it felt like I was being pushed out. Even in Paris, huh!? The ELYSEE MONTMARTRE party was held at a club inside a huge warehouse. Lots of people came and it was a pretty interesting party. At
first, I thought that it was a thin crowd, but you know, the bigger the venue... that's just how it goes. Of course, I was able to pull off a headlining performance, and ROCKED the Paris kids!

パリに到着して、そのまま息つく間も無く初日GIG全行程終了☆
あまりに疲れたので詳細は後日〜。

のバタバタはまだ続いてるけど、じたばせず、たまってる制作作業は

もうあきらめて、ロンドンでやるって事にして、身の回りの支度中。

で、ネットで入り用のもの探してたりすると変に人のブログで足止め食ったり、

自分で撮った写真の整理始めたりでなんのこっちゃわからんです。

先日verbalのラジオ番組にravexで出演した前日、都内某所でverbalと会って、

何故か、ほろ酔いでお互いの時計を交換。

そのまま帰宅、で翌日元通りに。お互い違和感を感じたまま時計してたようでウケる。

さて、以下の画像どっちがどっちのでしょうか？

Predeparture
The busy days continue… and I’ve given up trying to finish the ever increasing production work, but I’ll pick it up in London. I’m watching the world go by while preparing my belongings. I can’t figure it out but, while searching around online for necessities, I constantly find myself hung-up; checking out other people’s blogs or editing photos I’ve taken.

The other day, right before RAVEX made an appearance on VERBAL’S radio show, I bumped into Verbal out and about. We were both a little tipsy, and for whatever reason, we decided to trade our wrist watches! And just like that, we went home but then re-exchanged our watches the next day. We both had a good laugh about the creepy feel of wearing each other’s watches. But anyway, check out the photos below…

From Friday, It’s off to Europe
This time I have a two week itinerary planned, but more than half of the later part of the year will be like this, with me traveling back and forth. Yes, I have started recording! I will be starting off in London, releasing this album on SOUTHERNFRIED and AVEX. And on this long trip, I will be accompanied by the newly finished Mac Pro 8 core Intel Xeon “Nehalem”. This is no doubt a silly question, but how am I going to carry it around!? Right now, I am busily transferring data!

金曜からヨーロッパに。
今回は二週間くらいの行程で、DJはPARIS、MILANO、フランス中部BOURGESのフェス
多分今年後半は半分以上こんな感じで国内外でDJやりつつ、行ったり来たりな予定

数年ぶりだったけど、近代的ジャズ度また高くなってて素晴らしい

で、ちょっと数日間大勢に会いすぎて人疲れして帰宅するかレッドクリフ観るか

数秒迷って、やはりヒルズへ

完結編、やっぱ楽しめた! そしてリン・チーリン本当に美しいね

噂によると「チェ」の後編が結構がっかりって話なので、まだ観れてない

Thursday= The Thursday-RAVEX: The album pre-release party.
Friday= COSMOS@ The Miraikagakukan
Saturday= FPM @ONZIEME, I’ll guest DJ at Mr. Tanaka’s Regular Party in Osaka. And just like it sounds, after finishing it, I’ll be hurting all over! Especially Saturday at ONZIEME, it’ll be my first time DJing solo in a long time; the songs end in no time if you’re not paying attention! And the ceiling is really low, so I am always scared I’ll hit my head when standing on the DJ booth. I’ll then returned to Tokyo on Sunday evening and went to see Monday Michiru's live-performance. It’s been a few years, but it’s wonderful that the modern jazz mark has been raised. Lately, I have been around so many people, and I’m feeling tired of crowds… for a moment, I debated going home, or to see “Red Cliff” before ultimately going to Roppongi Hills.
In conclusion, I had a great time! Oh, and Lín Zhìlíng is absolutely beautiful! I haven’t seen it yet, but the word on the street is that “The Argentine” is a real disappointment. I’ll get around to posting images, but alright, it’s time to sleep.

I tried to find it all over the Japan, but no where was carrying it, so I directly mailed a store in Paris to buy it.

But anyway, you can personally import things like this, I was in fact surprised.
Supposedly, its creation was originally subcontracted out to a craftsman from HERMES. Some say the shoes are so incredibly comfortable that once you wear a pair, you can't wear any others, especially the Chukka Boots. The bag, which is from last season, is made of a sturdier leather than I had imagined. Maybe it's a little heavy, but it is a really elegant cream color. So, to keep it from getting dirty like others before, you have to treat it with care.

てかこんな個人輸入的なこと出来るよーになったんだね、むしろ驚き。

元々エルメスの靴制作を下請けてた職人さんらしいんだけど、ここんちの
靴履くともう他が嫌になるくらい履き心地ちが素晴しい、特にチャッカブーツ
バッグは前シーズンからスタートらしい、思ってたよりしっかりめのレザーで
もしかしたら少し重いかも、でも本当に上品なクリーム色のバッグ
例によって汚されないように慎重に取り扱わないと。

Extraordinarily Unexpected

This wasn't one of those planned out house parties.
Some friends came overe and intently cooked up tons of fried chicken.
It all seemed normal when combined with the white rice at the dining table.
Since I live alone, this was actually unusual.

The best of the movies that I watched.
"Eastern Promises"
I was captivated by David Paul Cronenberg's "Naked Lunch", and watched various other films, but was left stranded in disappointment after viewing "A History of Violence".
I liked the film Eastern Promises. It seems that I enjoy films set in other countries' foreign communities. Fadih Akin's "Stronger Than Love" (Gegen die Wand) was like this, as was "Land of Plenty" by Wim Wenders.
It was set in England, and paints a picture of the Russian Mafia world... I MEAN, HOW EXOTIC CAN IT GET! I don't want to spoil the story, so I won't get into the plot, but Naomi Watts was was stunning! I like her so much! But the impression left by Naked Lunch is too strong, and when I think to myself, "He made this film!?", it leaves me with a strange feeling. But with relation to creation, no matter if you are a musician, or whatever you do, the circumstances of the norm change. I'm sure that Cronenberg's 'current place' is right here.

イースタンプロミス

デヴィッド・クローネンバーグはネイキッドランチで虜になりその後色々観たけど、
数年前のヒストリーオブバイオレンスで思いっきり落胆させられそのまま。

で、今回のイースタンプロミスは好きな映画だった。
僕はこういう、舞台になる国における異国人のコミュニティーの話が好きみたい。
ファティ・アキンの「愛より強く」もそうだったし、ヴィム・ヴェンダースの
「ランド・オブ・プレンティー」もそう。

イギリスに於けるロシアンマフィアの世界を描く、、、ってどんだけエキゾチックやねん。
で、ネタばれしたくないので本筋には触れませんが、ナオミ・ワッツ美しい！好きすぎる！
でも
ネイキッドランチの印象が強すぎて、「あれを撮ったひとの映画」として
観るとやっぱ違和感があるのかなー。でも音楽家でもなんでもクリエイションにまつわる
事柄は常に変化するしね。きっとクローネンバーグさんの「今」はここにあるのでしょう。

みんな本当にごめんなさい！

体調とかそういうのでGIGスケジュール飛ばしたの人生で初めて。
まーこれも違う何かを引き寄せる為の「イレギュラー」な出来事、と
前向きに捉えて、、、休養に充てよう。

さて、今回の海外GIGタイミングで今の自宅の家主から、かなり大掛かりな
設備の交換工事をやりたいと言われてたので、快諾。

ん？？そう、工事は決行なので、家で寝れない、、、、。

って事で昨夜からトランク持って都内でジプシー生活、昨夜は赤坂の某レジデンツにお世話に。
でも、清潔で上品で、だだっ広い、まるで大使館のような部屋と、赤坂という土地に
全く馴染めず5日間の初日にして早くも引っ越し。
同じようなシステムの青山の物件に移動予定。

明け方までぶっ続けで4本もDVD観たり、遅く起きてランチしたり、
変則ネットサーフィンしたりとなかなかエキゾチックな東京ライフ満喫中。
あー今頃本当は雪合戦して、シュニッツェルと赤ワインとか食べてるのに〜。
