参りました、、、。

ロンドンのスタジオに戻って二日目、上の階のスタジオのクライアントから

「音量を下げて欲しい」と、。

実は前回のセッション最終日にも
「アコースティックの録音中なので音量下げてもらえませんか？」と、。
その時は最終日で、しかも夕方過ぎてたのでそのまま終了したんだけど、今回は昼の3時。

もともと僕の借りてる部屋はプリプロダクションルーム（制作用）であって、
ミキシングとか用の防音はされてないらしく、更に部屋の内部も音の反響が多いので、
今回独自に天井に布団貼ったり、枕買ってきてスピーカーの吸音にしたりしていた。

その努力も虚しく、著しい音質の改善も望めず、階上の人からもクレームが。
音質はともかく、クレームの理由は明白、ひとえに僕の持ち込んでるサブウーファー。
クラブの様な....とまでは行かないけど、僕はこの重低音を奏でるシステムがないと、
如何なる音楽制作もやる気にならない。。。困ったもんだ。

勿論東京のうちのスタジオは完璧に対応出来てる（筈）。
逆を言えば、そのシステムとその他少しの機材（画像参照）とそれを許容する環境、
それらさえ整えば世界中の何処でも作業が出来るって事（な筈）

今回のスタジオは残念だけど、でも彼らもまさか、プリプロルームであんなに
派手に低音利かせて音作ってるとは思わなかったんだろーねー、誰も責められない。

という訳で、明日からお引っ越し。この場合も上記の限られた機材群はとても楽チン。
沢山の機材もオモロいけど（特にヴィンテージとかね）そこにあるものでやるのも、
とても楽しい、限られた条件で可能な限り自由に音楽を作る、エコでもなんでもないけど、
なんだか今の気分、いやサブウーファーとそれを許容する環境は譲れませんケド。

あ、マレーシアから友達が来てて、しばしジョイン。




I’ve got a problem…
It’s only been two days since I returned to the London Studio, and the tenant upstairs is saying “Turn down the volume!.” Actually, one time before, on the last day of a session, they said, “Because we’re doing some acoustic recording, could you turn it down?”
It was the last day and already after dark so I just wrapped it up, but this time it was 3 o’clock in the afternoon! The room I’m renting is a preproduction room, and supposedly, there isn’t much sound proofing for mixing or whatever. On top of that, there is a lot of echo in the room. So this time, I had some bedding fixed to the ceiling and put pillows behind the speakers to suck up the noise. So I’m left feeling empty…I can’t even expect to get better sound quality, and after all that, I’m continuing to get complaints from the person upstairs!
The sound is, however, the clear reason for the complaints… the sub woofer that I brought, it’s not exactly a club speaker, but with out the bass hitting I don’t even feel like starting the production process. What a bummer!
Of course, my home studio in Tokyo has totally tackled all the problems. (Seems so anyway)
Put differently, with these few items, (check the photos) and a space that permits, you can make music anywhere in the world! (Seems so anyway) It’s kind of a shame about the room this time…but they too, probably didn’t think that there’d be such bass kick coming from a preproduction room! You can’t blame either side. So… tomorrow, I’m moving. And in this case because of the limited equipment, it’ll be really simple. Having a lot of equipment is also interesting (especially vintage stuff), but working with what you have, and with limitations, to make to freest music possible is so much fun. This isn’t for the planet or to be green, or frugal, but… the way I’m feeling, there is no way I can give up that sub woofer. Oh, and a friend came from Malaysia, to join in!
