I'm off to a place about 250km from London… (the same distance as Hamamatsu from Tokyo??) Just for fun, I’ll be DJing in a place called Lincoln, in between production work. But it does feel a bit far. I’m afraid it will be a trip that I have to take by car, which means 3 hours…one way. But no, I’m telling myself that even with that, it’ll be so much fun, I’ll tear it up so just wait for the party report! ☆
And guess what, I moved to the new studio yesterday and the sound is perfect, but here, the next-door neighbor said “I’ll be doing some sensitive work, so could you not use the sub woofer during the day?” 15 minutes into work and I have this plea. (tears) This sound problem is turning into a running joke!
In Tokyo, with all the noise, maybe this wouldn’t be such a problem… but I never thought it would be a problem in London! This must be a difference in thinking about preproduction. For me production equals creation, the creation process, and mixing etc., then there is editing which equates to finishing touches. I don’t differentiate, so there is no…”this part” or “the main part”. (vocals are an exception to this rule) After all, if dance music doesn’t have rhythm, it doesn’t feel good, and that’s no fun. So with the kick and high hat, and other rhythm, on high volume, you can check for ringing and make sure in an instant that there aren’t any incredibly huge bleeps.
So while things are falling into place in London, jobs in Japan are being pinched. So I will be trying to wrap-up production and what not here, and then after doing a gig, head home around the 19th. Something I surprisingly realized this time, is that I can go without Japanese food for a while. Yesterday, I ate Belgian cuisine; delicious.

って街までDJしに行く事になった、制作の合間にJUST FOR FUNで引き受けたんだけど、
なんだか妙に遠い。で、恐らく車での移動なんだけど、3時間コースでしょ、片道。
いやいや、それでもめっさ「楽しい事」にしてやっつけてくるので、レポお楽しみに〜☆

さらーに昨日移ったスタジオは音質完璧だったんだけど、またもやお隣さんが、
「明日から少し神経質な録音なので出来れば日中はサブウーファー鳴らさないで欲しい」
というお願いを、作業開始なんと15分ほどで嘆願にいらっしゃった（泣）
いや、もうギャグの域に達してるこの「音問題」日本ならいざ知らず、
やかましい音楽の都、ロンドンくんだりでここまで音の問題に合うとは.....
要するにプリプロダクションに対する考え方の違いでしょう。
僕は「作る事＝創作、制作作業」と「ミックス、編集＝仕上げる」事を分けて考えていない、
なので「仮の○○」「本ちゃんの○○」というものが存在しない（例外的に仮歌は存在するケド）
そしてダンスミュージックはやはりリズムが気持ちよくないと楽しくない。
なので、キックやハット、その他リズムを構成するものを大音量で、「鳴り」を
確認しつつ曲を作っていると想像を絶する爆音が瞬間的に鳴ってる事もある。

という訳でロンドンでなんだかつんのめってる間に日本での仕事が逼迫して来た。
ので、当初19日くらいまでのこちらでの作業を巻いて、ギグ翌日辺りに帰国するかも。

今回の発見は意外と日本食なくても平気かもって事、昨夜はベルギー料理食べた、美味。
